Junior Achievement-Rocky Mountain, Inc. (JA) was named Top Company in the nonprofit category by ColoradoBiz Magazine. The Top Company Awards program, now in its 25th year, is widely regarded as Colorado’s most competitive statewide business-excellence program. JA also achieved this honor in 2008 and was a Top Company finalist in 2011.
Winners in 14 industry categories were announced and finalists honored on September 12 at an awards luncheon at the Denver Center for the Performing Arts. Companies are judged on financial performance, community involvement and outstanding achievements in areas such as product innovation, operational excellence and marketing effectiveness. Winners are selected by a panel of business professionals and policy officials.
“This is a wonderful honor,” said Chris Harr, chairman of the JA Board of Directors. “But the real honor goes to the JA volunteers, teachers, students and supporters who work together every day to arm students with the tools and knowledge they need to pursue higher education, become financially literate and workforce ready.”
JA is proud to share this honor with OpenWorld Learning, which also received a 2012 Top Company Award in the nonprofit category. To learn more about the Top Company Awards, visit www.COBizMag.com.
