During the 2011/12 school year, Junior Achievement-Rocky Mountain, Inc.’s dedicated force of 4,730 volunteers inspired and empowered 105,354 students in 494 schools in Metro Denver, Northern Colorado and Wyoming to own their future economic success. On average, JA students showed a 25% knowledge gain in the area of financial literacy, work readiness and entrepreneurship.
None of this could be possible without volunteer and financial support from businesses, individuals and foundations like Jackson National Life Insurance Company (Jackson). Jackson exemplifies the kind of commitment that it takes to continue providing JA’s free programs to hundreds of thousands of students each year.
Thanks to Jackson, JA ended the year on a high note with the annual Jackson Success on the Green Golf Classic on June 25 grossing a record $356,000! Once again, the pre-tournament dinner and silent auction at Del Frisco’s Double Eagle Steak House was a huge success, with nearly 300 top executives in attendance. The following day, 124 golfers enjoyed a cloudless day at Sanctuary Golf Course thanks to support from RE/MAX, LLC.
In addition to their annual support of JA’s golf tournament, Jackson also encourages its employees to engage in JA programs. This past school year, 49 Jackson employees volunteered with JA in local classrooms, at JA Finance Park, the JA Stock Market Challenge and JA Business Week. In addition, 137 Jackson employees participated in the JA Bowl-A-Thon and raised over $55,000 to benefit JA programs!
Philanthropic companies like Jackson are ensuring that Colorado’s next generation is prepared for their role as consumers and workers in the 21st century workplace, and have the knowledge and skills to become contributing, self-sufficient adults. Thanks to Jackson and all of our supporters!
