Her energy and enthusiasm for teaching young people is infectious and her endless passion for promoting Junior Achievement (JA) within her company is truly remarkable. It’s no wonder that Heather Kingsley, Sr. Specialist, Financial Crimes Compliance Operations, for Western Union, has been honored as JA’s 2018 Advocate of the Year.
Heather has been a JA volunteer with multiple employers for ten years. Helping high school students learn the skills needed to land and keep a job, Heather most recently taught JA Personal Success to students at Rock Canyon High School – and she made a big impact.
Heather not only works with students in the classroom, but also serves as Western Union’s JA Volunteer and JA Bowl-A-Thon Coordinator.
“JA is such an easy organization to advocate for,” said Heather. “In the words of Mother Theresa, ‘We alone cannot do great things, but small things with great love.’ JA gives me the opportunity to do that every day.”
