State Farm has awarded a $25,000 grant to Junior Achievement-Rocky Mountain, Inc. (JA). The funds will be used to implement financial education curriculum in classrooms throughout Denver, Northern Colorado and Eastern Wyoming. State Farm has a long history of supporting JA’s mission through both funds and volunteers. Over the past decade, State Farm volunteers have generously prepared 20,000 Colorado students with the skills and knowledge they need to own their future financial success. More than 300 volunteers from the company have actively participated in sharing their personal and professional stories with classrooms of students through JA.
State Farm’s commitment to JA goes beyond Colorado’s borders. In fact, State Farm was presented with a 2011/12 Junior Achievement USA (JA) Bronze U.S. President’s Volunteer Service Award for providing the organization with significant volunteer resources during the year. As a corporate contributor since 1995, State Farm financially supported 56 different JA affiliates at the local level and State Farm associates nationally volunteered with 80 different JA affiliates with more than 5,000 volunteer hours from 2011 to 2012.
“We’re so pleased with State Farm’s continued commitment to Junior Achievement and want to thank the many volunteers from State Farm who will be serving as role models to our local students,” said Robin Wise, President of JA. “The generous support of organizations like State Farm makes it possible for JA to offer vital programs at no cost to schools.”
“Not only do we support the vital services JA provides to the community, we thoroughly enjoy being an active part of it,” said State Farm Team Manager and JA volunteer coordinator Andrew Silver. “Our employees continue to find professional and personal rewards working within the community through JA.”
State Farm has a rich history of giving back. State Farm’s values – support building safer, stronger and better educated communities – remain unchanged since their founding in 1922. In 2012, State Farm awarded $25,000 to Junior Achievement-Rocky Mountain, Inc.
